Layover at JFK - visiting B&H
I have a long layover at JFK and see it as a good opportunity to visit B&H. Any suggestions as to the easiest way of getting there without spending an arm and a leg (saving the money to spend on video gear). It' smy first visit to NYC so I have no experience with how easy/hard it is to get around.
Thanks.

Welcome to NY! You take the AirTrain to either the LIRR or a subway stop. Depending on which train you take, total cost will be $7-13 and 30 min to an hour. The Long Island Railroad is the fastest, but you can also take the subway. The good news is that Penn Station is a major destination, and B&H is right across the street. For info see this link:
http://www.lirr.org/mta/airtrain.htm Probably the best way to go (less confusion much faster but a few more $) is take the Air Train to Jamaica, then LIRR to Penn Station. |

Thanks, Mike. It's good to know the relationship of Penn Station to B&H. They mention it is nearby on their website but gave no details.
DOes anyone know if there is aplace to check my backpack at B&H? I suspect they don't want me carrying it around the store. If not B&H what about Penn Station? There doesn't seem to be as many luggage lockers as there used to be.

You can stow your stuff at both B&H and the train station. B&H is free.

Robert has a good point - B&H is closed for many of the Jewish holidays and on Saturdays - check their website.

I have all day on Sunday. According to their schedule they should be open 10:00-5:00. That might just give me enough time :-)
(I had checked this before I scheduled the trip.)
