Aspect Ratio Question
I did a project shot on an XL1s (4:3 / 720 x 480) and someone is asking me for the aspect ratio of my film and I'm not sure what to tell them.
I edited it in Sony Vegas, is there someway to look this up or is there just a standard for 4:3? O.D. |

I might be missing something here, but I'm pretty sure your aspect is 4:3
4:3 is standard aspect ratio (also called 1.33:1) 16:9 is widescreen aspect ration (also called 1:78:1) Unless you shot anamorphic widescreen or used letterboxing or something. |

If you shot in 4:3 then it should be in 4:3, unless you set your Project Settings in Vegas to 16:9 and had a 16:9 preview window while editing and then rendered as widescreen. That would make proportions noticebly distorted. Are they distorted in your final product?

4:3 with a PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio) of 0.9
