Analog formats from Sony??
I was wondering where I could get product information Sony's Professional Hi8 and BetaCam SP gear. Does anyone know what the last model camcorders and vtrs with component analog outputs were?
Thanks, X |

All Betacam SP decks, cameras will have component out. Only high end Hi-8mm gear will have component with the addition of an optional daughter card. S-video is not component.

Sony had three lines of SP decks. The UVW (low end, semi pro), PVW (light duty pro) and BVW (hi-end, pro, BQ). The Hi-8mm gear was in the EVO series.

EVW-300 was the last pro Hi-8 camcorder (and maybe the only one that was integrated.) You could get any of the Sony camera heads and dock their Hi-8 recording section on them.
I still have a working EVO-9800A and a broken (weren't they all) EVO-9850. Heavy duty pro decks made for linear editing. Sold my EVW-300 with only 350 hours on it. It is still out there making money for the guy I sold it to.
