Shooting TV Promo
Hey everybody,
I will be shooting a trailer/promo on a VX2000 and also a VX2100 for a talk/variety type show soon in Las Vegas. I have a Sennheiser ME-66 shotgun mic with only a camera mount because I was using my 2000 to shoot doc footage. I will probably end up renting equip so, and suggesttions on how to get the TV look with lighting and how to handle sound? I will be shooting at night in a backyard with a pool to mimic a casino pool/bar environment. There is an interview and crowd reactions etc. Also, can I use the shotgun mic with a boom? How do I connect it to a boom? I have a Beachtek XLR setup already, but want to record sound for some of the segments with a separate source. DAT, Mini-disc recorder - what? Thanks, Jamie www.figure8productions.com |

Depends on how pro the results have to be. What you are planning to do requires a lot of equipment and knowledge.
At the level you are asking questions, I'd strongly recommend you hire lighting and sound people who have lots of experience. Be the producer and let other people do the work. I'm moving this to a general forum as very little of this is camera-specific.
