software buying ebay
Can anyone give me any recommended tips on what to look for when searching for software on ebay? I am crossing my fingers I don't get ripped off. I know someone out there has experience with this. I on the other hand do not. I am trying to find photoshop unregistered and legal.

Pull the contact info. Call the vendor to get firm details. Be sure the product is not oem (unless specified) or educational or "only the cd I lost the packaging and manuals". Deal locally if possible. Pay with your credit card. You have purchase protection as part of your credit card agreement.
If it is not current stock (Photoshop CS) then perhaps the reseller has some unsold retail packages to vend. Otherwise tread carefully. If it seems like an unbelievable deal, then it may be too good to be true. Every great bargain I have found on eBay has worked out perfectly. But not without research. There are diamonds in the rough amidst the anonyimity of the selling community known as ebay. Best yet for me was a complete set of 4 1000 watt ianiro red heads in the case with 3 manfrotto stands for 250 bucks!! The seller made some rookie mistakes and didn't get the bids so I won... but again, any purchase of any size means you must contact the seller first ... you do it when you shop retail, so treat this as the same. Be street smart and you should be ok. |
