Tape Heads
Dear GL2 Users,
WHY do the Tape Heads get dirty SO FAST? If I have shot some tape when the heads were a little dirty, and I have since cleaned the heads, is there a way to clean the tape? ALSO, when shooting I have to keep the camera on PAUSE all the time, because if I don't I get blue spaces between takes. This really wears the battery down. Or do I have to rewind after every take to make it SEAMLESS w/o BLUE SPACES? THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT!!! KEVIN REILY |

On the GL2 you can use the "REC search" buttons on top of the camera to avoid the blue (empty) spaces between your shots.
By the way, I have never heard about anyone cleaning the tapes. |

Kevin: Did the footage show evidence that the heads were dirty, or did you just get the "CLEAN HEADS" message from the GL2?
I got the message not long after I had my camera. I was a bit aggravated that it would be dirty that fast. However, I noticed nothing was wrong with the footage. I cleaned the heads anyway that one time. I haven't cleaned the heads since, and I have been shooting with it for a while. I won't clean them unless I see some evidence that they are dirty. ,Frank |
