Audio/Video Distribution Amplifier

Greetings,

I am now on a quest to track down a Distro-amp for mass duplication of a feature that has just been completed by my company. Any suggestions on brands? All RCA would be perfectly fine. Firewire in and rca out would be even better. any where from 4-10 channel. Any suggestions?

Thanks guys- Nori

There is a pretty big range out there. What's your budget?

PS, my parents live in Kelowna, too hot in the summer for me though! :)

hi Rory,
if you don't have a specific reason for DV in, leave it out. You will anyway have DV>analogue converter in your VTR/camera. Why pay extra?
We are using much Kramer www.kramerelectronics.com here for such purposes, good price/perfomance balance. Again don't know do they have resellers in US and Canada or not (it's Israelian company).

Distro amp arrived

I ordered from cable electronics a 7-way distro amp called the AV700. It arrived about a week and a half ago and I have a problem with it.

I am using it to split one signal to seven VCR's to do mass duplication. After extensive testing I have realized that if I use more than 4 of the outputs, the picture begins loosing quality, and if I use all 7 outputs the picture is horrendous. I have tried each channel separately with no problems and I have also tried
different combinations of 4 outputs with no problems. At first I thought it was probably the power supply not giving it enough current, but after trying a regulated power supply the problem still exists. I have also used different RCA cables. Since the purpose of the amp is to not have this problem I am wondering if there is something wrong with the unit itself. It was $200 CDN, which isn't a lot for the amp, but a lot for a product that doesn't work to it's specifications.

I am awaiting a response back from the techs at cable electronics, but am not expecting it to arrive

Can anyone offer any suggestions for a solution?

Thanks Again- Nori
