Is there a cheap or more efficent version of this

it would be difficult to recommend anything without knowing what he wants to do with it... taping a slow car going around the track like that, with the camera on the inside, isn't too demanding.
a company called i/o port racing used to make an scca-legal mount that bolts to the roll cage... that's what i use, but there are definite limits to how much roll cage vibration an operating video camera can handle... hence the idea of using a seperate camera for the video pickup... which is what i ended up doing a long time ago. hard to tell how good the camera really is from an internet video clip. |

not quite the same thign but you might be able to get good results with a cine saddle.
