Buying a customized PC from HP?
This has probably been beat to death. Is buying a custom PC from someone like HP a bad idea? Pricewise, it is very reasonable, compared to building the same thing off of NewEgg. Thanks.

I have one, and love it. Owned it 2 or 3 years now & still works fine. The prices can add up as you 'piece meal' it ($50 for more RAM, $100 for more HD space, $20 DVD burner, $50 better video card), so if you see one for $399 you'll likely buy it for $600 or $700 dollars.
But overall, I ordered mine straight thru HP.com & it worked out great. Also, I could get things I needed (high Ram, hd space, & video card) that I wouldn't get at best buy or something. It shipped pretty fast too, from what I recall, and I constantly get emails for further sales & specials. Although I haven't needed to buy anything yet, but should soon buy a printer. |
