I recommend sticking with the old until all the bugs are worked out. And besides, I understand there is a newer new coming out next year.
Then again, once you drive it out of the showroom., it ain't new anymore. OK, I'd better stop, this is getting old.

SORRY FOR THE UNFINISHED POST FOLKS...I THOUGHT I HAD CANCELLED IT BUT OBVIOUSLY DID NOT.......WHAT I WAS GOING TO PUT OUT THERE WAS MY TOTAL SATISFACTION WITH A NEW ON CAMERA LIGHT FROM COOL LUX..ITS THE SL3000, WHICH CAN BE USED AS A BROAD LIGHT, OR A FANTASTIC SOFT LIGHT....
ITS GREAT FOR PEOPLE SHOTS IN THE SOFT LIGHT POSITION. MY SET UP IS WITH A 100WATT DC LAMP, OPERATED FROM AN NRG BELT PACK, BUT THEY ALSP OFFER AN AC VERSION, WITH A DIMMER AS AN OPTION. FOR ANYONE LOOKING FOR AN ON CAMERA LIGHT THAT DOES NOT BLIND THE SUBJECT OR MAKE THEM SQUINT...THIS IS A DREAM. EXPOSURES WITH THE XLI1S ARE TYPICALLY F2.6 AT 1/60TH SEC, AT ABOUT 4.5FT, O GAIN(ITS NOT VERY BRIGHT IN THE SOFT LIGHT POSITION BUT THE LIGHT IS JUST "HOLLYWOOD". THEY ALSO HAVE A NICE RANGE OF LARGER HOLLYWOOD SOFT LIGHTS.. THEIR WEBSITE IS AT WWW.COOL-LUX.COM AGAIN SORRY FOR THE UNITENTIONAL TEASER....HAPPY SHOOTING! PETER SHEPPARD. AT SHEPSPHOTO. |

New products with good recommendations are always interesting subjects here, thanks for finally finishing off what you started.
One small thing though, turn off your caps lock when posting. It's not a big deal to me, web etiquite dictates that all capitals means you are angry or yelling. The last thing we want is someone to take offence.
