Auto focus at higher f-stops
Does a camcorder autofocus as well at more closed aperture positions? (assuming correct exposure)

Most AF lenses use contrast as a means of determining correct focus. Various things can affect contrast, including filters, lighting, subject, and to some degree the lens opening. But given your assumption of enough light for proper exposure, then the higher f/number should not have an affect on proper AF.
