Transitions in FCP 6
I have just upgraded to FCP 6. When I add a transition in the timeline and play it back where I added transition there is a glitch in the play back.
Like it wasn’t render but it was rendered. When I out put to QT movie looks fine. This is driving me crazy. Any answers to this problem? On a MacBook Pro, editing HDV. Thanks, Ron |

Try editing in ProRes instead of HDV and you can increase the sequence setting to display Full Quality. Other than that FCP is meant to give you an approximation of the final output in the interest of speed. Ppl also use HD converter devices to monitor their movie on an HDTV while editing.

Thanks Pete,
This may be a novice question. Where do I find the ProRes set up. Ron |

Under FCP Menu > Easy Setup I set it to capture from the camera to ProRes but you can also set it up so that only renders are in ProRes FCP Menu > User Pref >Render tab. Btw, the thread belongs in the FCP section.
