Making Audio sound like a Radio Broadcast
Any tips on how to make audio sound like a radio broadcast ( coming from a radio within a scene). Any software that is capable of this or is it just an issue of messing with some basic audio settings?
Any help would be great Dean |

Best accomplished in the editing process with software... try re-posting in either our Mac editing or PC editing forums, depending on your platform. Hope this helps,

Use Soundforge or Cubase 5.0. Edit the sound with a 10/20 Band EQ (in Soundforge). Or in Cubase 5.0, trigger a frequency range. Remove all high and low frequencies and push autogate. Drag the slider to listen. In both of these cases, use distortion after if you wan't to simulate old broadcast, bad speakers, or bad transmitting.
The settings you use depend very much of what kind of radiobroadcast you want to simulate. Modern broadcast can sound very good. Try out the settings until you get "your" sound. In all soundprograms there are several filters you can use. So just try it all out. Regards, Erik |
