A friend of mine asked me....

A friend of mine asked me if there were any good "uprights," with 24P, 16:9, OIS, high resolution and good in low light. I told him, "There aren't any." Did I miss something?

Yes, the upright format like an Optura 300.

I didn't tell him he was dreamin', just, "There aren't any."

He was also thinking of getting a higher-end Pana HD thingy. I know, I know..., that's a lot of money but he clears 22 grand a month.

For 22 big ones a month, he ought to get a Cinealta and hire a cameraman to carry it.

Don't buy anything until after NAB. It's too close.

What a hilarious combination. Matchbox, 24p, HD...I guess it could happen.
How 'bout a PDX10 or DVX100, and put it on a tripod?

He's got 2 VX2000's, the latest Canon digicamera with lenses, tons of the latest MAC stuff and he just bought an AVID editing studio (which includes storage and 3 monitors). He wants to buy a Pana HD but also a small hand-held cam---with those features I mentioned.
