French Secam 816 lines resolution still happening?
Hi,
I am about to buy a couple of dvx100's for a small picture, here in Amsterdam, Holland. Does anyone know if the French still work on 816 lines rather than the 625 PAL lines? And would that give indeed a better picture? Cheers, Joep |

Welcome aboard from another "dutch" man! 816 lines? That's
the first time I've ever heard that. Secam equipment will understand PAL signals without problems. I found this URL for some technical comparison: http://www.high-techproductions.com/pal,ntsc.htm In theory more resolution will be better, but if there is almost no equipment then it probably won't. Ofcourse we are moving into an HD world, so that might be more interesting? Ofcourse here in Holland there isn't much HD at all, unless you want to go from digital to film.
