DVHS DV input

I have a JVC HMDH 30000U recorder and would like to record from my pinnacle S8 video editor DV out via firewire to the JVC.

I have no problem recording DV on the JVC from my TRV900 camera or DV recorder.

Nor are there problems with PC DV to the camera or recorder.
The JVC does not see the computer DV output.

I have tried Pinnacle S8 with win 2k and win xp. XP has a setting for the firewire labelled JVC tape device but I assume that is for MPEG2 HDTV only.
Any thoughts?

It probably doesn't see it because the PC is looking for a DV VCR
device which the recorder probably isn't. An option would be to
export to your camera first and then to the recorder??
