Actually, according to a post on this board from a DV300U user, it does have progressive mode.

Captures progressive ?!! How do you do that?

Hi Johann,

You are refering to GR-DV3000U (3-thousand) while JVC Streamcorder is GY-DV300U (3-hundred).

GR-DV3000U is a consumer camcorder with Megapixel CCDs capable of capturing stills.

GY-DV300U is a prosumer (Professional DV) camcorder which can only captures video.
