Will US Switch to HD Change Safe Color Levels?
Currently, 16 to 235 are broadcast legal levels for the US.
But the US will be switching over to HD only broadcast. Does anyone know if this switch over will have an effect on broadcast legal levels for the States? Thanks much. |

Adam is quite right, of course -- the U.S, is *not* switching to HD-only broadcast. It is switching to digital-only broadcast, and standard definition content is still very much a part of that. Hope this helps,

I'm sorry, I meant to say "digital" instead of "HD," my bad.
The reason why I ask this ? is because I thought 0-15 and 236-255 were use to carry info for analog broadcast. When broadcast switches to all digital, will those levels still be illegal for images? Thanks much, and sorry again about the mix up ;). |
