HVR and HDR
Hi guys
Silly question, but does anyone know why SONY sometimes uses HVR-xxx or HDR-xxx in front of the model number of their various camcorders? Stelios

HVR is used for pro models and HDR is used for consumer models.

The feature set of the HVR cameras is generally more robust. But another important difference which may not be immediately obvious is support. The HVR's are serviced by Sony's professional division and they make a big effort to turn repairs around quickly. The HDR's are part of Sony's consumer division, and it may take significantly longer to get your camera back when sending in for repair.

Thanks Boyd
That IS a big difference. Now I can sleep more peaceful at night since I got the HVR-Z5E. Stelios
