sub £1000.00 Camcorder recommendations

Hi Guys

I am recomending to a colleague in another department a Sony HDV A1E as a versatile camera for filming interviews and conferences. However they would like a sub £1000.00 recommendation also and I was windering if anyone on this forum has any advice.

I am stipulating that as a minimum it must have an external mic input.

Thanks

Ben

Depends upon whether he wants tape, disk or solid state. The Canon HV30 is a great HDV camera and a great deal right now until the HV40 is released in March. Can't help you if he's looking for HD. I have a Pany GS400 that has been sitting in its case getting lonely for the last year.
