miniDV tapes: "HD" and "regular" the same? at DVinfo.net

The local store sells "HD" miniDV tapes for 3x the price of "regular" ones, but claims they're 100% identical. Could someone please explain how this works: are all miniDV tapes the same?

HD is more prone to drop-outs (so I've heard) so the "HD" tapes are les prone to them, or something. In my opinion, it's just marketing.
