2008 Apple Insomnia Film Fest

Just thought I'd start a thread on our favorite forum for all those who plan on taking part in the 2008 Apple Insomnia Film Festival, so we can discuss whatever seems relevant at the time.

Apple - Education - Insomnia Film Festival

For some reason, I can't login to the apple site right now. Anyone else know what's going on?

Hmm, me too. I'm getting redirected to Apple's main page. I am signed up for the Insomnia festival. T-minus 5 days and counting.

Are people still having trouble registering? I managed to log in, but i can't admit any of my teammates, and they can't register.

This was posted around 8pm tonight on the Insomnia home page:

Dear Insomnia participants,

Due to technical difficulties outside our control, the Insomnia Gallery is still not available for registration. We realize the time sensitive nature of the situation and are making every effort to correct the problem.

It is our goal to have the Insomnia Gallery back up as soon as possible and allow teams to continue to register. We will be extending the registration deadline for as long as possible prior to the start of the festival day, which is still scheduled for Saturday, November 15th.

We will post an update before Thursday, November 13th at 11:00am Pacific Standard Time, with the status of the Insomnia Gallery and any changes to the festival schedule that need to be made.

We are working around the clock to ensure that the festival is available to everyone who would like to participate and we sincerely thank you for your patience and understanding.

Thank you,
Apple Insomnia Team

My son and his troupe were all primed and ready to go (I was going to support). I guess the good news is that my camera will likely benefit from missing this "experience".

Film Racing Grand Prix 2008

If you're still geared up to go, the Film Racing Grand Prix 2008 is scheduled for Nov 20-24. Sign up deadline is Nov 18. Perfect time to shoot those all those turkeys. That's the birds, not the movies.

Hopefully Apple (or someone from there reads this forum), because their servers are horrible!
The person that is probably running it isnt getting the necessary resources to do it. Apple/Mac themselves have the technology and money to do it, but the department that is running the contest isnt get anything...

They seriously need to put an entry fee, even if its a dollar...

Thanks Michael for the heads up on the film racing contest. Good prizes too!

I was really disappointed when they canceled it.
I had a team of 5 people, and an amazing plot.
I can't wait until they release another date.

I hope they put a entry fee down, so we don't get a bunch of people doing a "eh, i'll just sign up, and if i don't do it, oh well."
