Sound card recommendations for Mac G4 AGP
Recently I recorded some very low frequency sounds from MiniDisc through the analog input of the built-in soundcard on my Mac G4 450 AGP graphics for a video project I am working on. The sound lost at least 12db during the transfer. Normally it does pretty well, but I guess it rolls off FAST when the frequency gets too low or high.
What would everybody recommend as a good replacement sound card for my computer, preferably offering digital in AND out? 5.1 is not a necessity. Also, using the Digital input, would any sound recording program automatically recognize that? Thanks. |

While people are replying to your query on sound cards, perhaps someone could pass on some recommendations for Mac cards (or Windows) that allow for mixing in 6 channels, and possibly creating a 5.1 encoded track for DVD burns.
Thanks. |

To my knowledge you don't need a 5.1 soundcard to create the tracks. It just burns to the DVD that way.
