Urgent help needed - DV out problem
Hi
I am struggling to get the playback out to my VX-2000 and my TV monitor from Premiere 6 (Mac G4). It has been working before without hassle (as far as I can remember). The only things that have changed are 1/ my VX-2000 has been with Sony SA for a couple of weeks (to test a lack of sharpness at wide angle/infinite) and I have installed a new flashcard reader on my firewire. I have checked and re-checked all the settings in Premiere 6 (Playback - Firewire PAL...) and on the camera (A/V DV OUT on). I have rebooted... Everything seems ok but it doesn't work! What else can I check? Is it possible that the DV out is not working in the camera (DV in to the Mac is working fine...)? Please help me as I need to write a few tapes before the end of the w-e... Thanks.

I think I was confused with the A/V - DV setting. Now that I put off, I get the video when I export to tape but without audio (although it plays during playback...).
Any idea?

Not sure Gondwana.
I have had a problem before similar to this but not sure if it is related. I could play back footage but when I added it to the timeline and previewed it, or outputed it to tape...there would be video but no audio. But I have a feeling this was related to the divx codec somehow. i never did figure it out. The file I was playing was encoded in DIVX 4.12 codec. I was attempting to transfer and convert it to DV Standard format and to my camcorder. But for some reason I couldn't get the audio...only video. |

I know this sounds simple, but make sure you have 'Export Audio' checked.

I found the problem. If the box "ALSO play audio on destop" is checked, then the audio is not exported on the tape nor the TV monitor. Weird, isn't it???
Thanks for your help anyway.
