Drive in blue

I have a WD Passport 120GB small (2.5 inch) external USB storage hard drive I've been using for almost a year now, model number WD1200U017-004. Recenty I sent it off and got it back with some Prores video on it, video I was unable to work with since I'm on a PC. So I gave the drive to a friend with a Mac and FCP, he transcoded the video into DV/DVCPRO QT format for me to edit, and put it back on the same drive, erasing the original.

I suspect he reformatted the drive, and the 120 GB hard drive now shows up as 148 GB, formatted NTFS and it's in blue color in "My Computer" while everything else is black (see attached image).

Any idea anyone? What is going on???

The drive is compressed. I'd suggest uncompressing it.
