crome sided sphere??
Hello everyone!! Got a question...
I was watching the feature's section of episode III last night..The section on how the film was made. They were taking "reference shots" but they were using this ball on a stick that was crome on one side.. Anyone have any idea what that thing does? Thanks! -Terry.

I believe it is for the reflections of the 3D models. A picture is taken of the sphere, and that is used to map the reflections of any of the 3D models, so that they actually reflect what is around them.

Also to provide a reference of the lighting so that it can be accurately mapped into the so-called lighting sphere in the 3D environment.
