time and date

Does anyone know how to make the Canon XL 1 put the time and date on the tape so that it's visible. I know the Canon XL 1s can do it. I also know that both cameras can encoded it on the tape so when you play it back on the XL camera you can turn it on and off but thats not what I need. I need it burn on the visible frame so any camera or VCR can play it back. This is for legal deposition work.

Thanks Chris

You'll need to burn the TC in when you make the copy. Use the remote control to make the TC visible then record to VHS or whatever format is needed for your work.
