SD Card Writer for XH A1 Presets???
Ok ok... here comes the stupid question of the year.
Can a "USB Card Reader" write files to an SD Card? In other words, I would like to put some of the custom presets from this site onto my Canon XH A1's SD memory card, but don't know exactly what I need to write these files to the SD card. I went to Best Buy to pick up a "card writer", but everything there said "Card Reader" and the package said nothing to the effect of WRITING to these cards (PC -> Card). I asked one of the tech guys there and he wasn't sure himself... so I just came home and thought I'd ask here. Thanks for your help. |

Hi Deke, the term card reader is somewhat misleading because the connection it makes with your computer is a two-way street, meaning you can read and write files to and from the card (as long is the card itself is unlocked; there is a write-prevent switch on an SD card). So yes, the card reader is all you need. It'll show up as a new drive on your computer.
