Anyone here own a Sony Camcorder & Sony Digital Camera. Help Needed!
Hi,
Anyone here own a Sony Camcorder & Sony Digital Camera, and are using a Sony USB driver for both devices? If so, did you have any problems installing both drivers, and do both devices work correctly? I'm asking because I own a Sony Camcorder (TRV-950) and am running it's USB driver. I'm thinking about buying a Sony digital camera (DSC-P52) which will have it's own USB driver. I'm worried about both USB drivers conflicting with each other. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks. |

What are you currently using the usb driver for with your camcorder? Pulling images off the Memory stick? If so, I dont see why the driver would be different. Even if you were required to install another usb driver for your camera, I dont think they would conflict...
Some please feel free to reinforce, or correct my reply if need be. Good luck... John |

In which case, it should connect exactly the same way that your new digital camera will...
Good luck... |

Since both cameras are Sonys and both use Memory Stick, don't you think you should be able to swap the sticks between them? Then it really wouldn't matter.

If you are using XP Pro as an OS it makes no difference........
The memory sticks show up as "drives" and are plug and play....e.g. additional drivers are not required.

I routinely swap memory sticks between Sony camcorders. The USB card reader that came with the better one happily provides a drive location in Explorer. The only problem I've had was in trying to install a dual card reader - MS and Compact Flash. Of three PCs, I got it to work on one- the newest, running win2K sp3. None were running XP.

Hi Guys,
Just got this from Sony Support "We can confirm that the DSC-P52 can indeed use the same drivers as the DCR-TRV950E and therefore providing you do not connect both products at the same time you should not experience any difficulties. We can also confirm that the DSC-P52 is compatible with both USB 1.1 and Windows ME." So my problem is solved. My thanks to all those that help Regards Sean |
