Canon compatible lenses with EF AdapterXL
My 100-400 Canon lens fits nicely on the adapter and I thought I'd be smart and use my cheapo 18-55mm as a wider angle lens, but it won't fit, neither will an expensive 15-85mm [I think that was the one].
The 18-55 is a plastic mount but the other had a real metal mount. I thought the adapter took all EF lenses?? Help or comments expected as usual. tt |

Is your cheapo 18-55mm the one that came with your Digital Rebel (or other Canon D-SLR model)? If so, then it is not an ordinary EF lens but rather an EF-S lens (as is your 15-85mm), and the adapter is not compatible with that series of lenses. It works with EF lenses but not EF-S lenses.

Quite right, Chris, it's with a Rebel 350D and clearly marked "EF-S" and the "S" is even in a larger distinctive font!
Pays to read the label....... Thanks, tt |
