Industrial Audio Video http://www.i-a-v.com/

Good folks.

Also Texcam - http://www.texcam.com/ For more complete grip/lighting needs as well as film and video cameras. Also good folks. I've worked with both companies.

Don't know 'em, can't comment. I'm a native Houstonian who moved out to California three years ago. IAV and Texcam have been around for decades, it's where pros go for their needs.

IAV for sure - call Pepper at (800) 392-4384
The guys at Texcam are pretty groovy as well - don't know what the carry in the minidv realm.

I would recommend plus8/Panavision, they have DVXs (or used to). VID has an XL2 kit for $150/day. I don't deal with Texcam/IAV, so don't know their rates. Plus8 are personal friends, and I'm sure they'd be able to help out.
