DV rentals NJ/NYC
Hi,
I have a small last minute production in NJ - just about 25miles outside of NYC and need a camera rental quickly in case that I can't find an owner / operator available for the 5th. Can anyone recommend me a place in Newark / New York area where I can rent a HDV / DV camera along the lines Gl2 , FX1 FX7 etc. The would have to accept CC desposit as I currently have no active production rental insurance. Any help would be greatly appretitated Mike |

Hi. Try Liman Video on 38th street in NYC. You can get to them via a Google search. I've heard good things about them. You can poke around on their site to see if they have what you need. For audio, if you need it, Gotham directly across the street is wonderful...though they will need a couple of hours to prep your gear if you're walking in off the street. I'd call ahead in either case.
One point from personal experience. DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT parking your car on the street. It's all commercial parking from 6am-7pm and a tow away zone. I lost my car there Friday afternoon when I popped into the shop for 25 minutes. $185 plus two hour wait to get it back, not to mention the $115 ticket that was on the windshield at the impound lot! And my total rental fee was less than $35. Cheers, Bob |
