reusing pro tape

Had some trouble logging so I hope this doesn't post twice.

Using Panasonic AY-DVM63PQ pro quality mini-dv tape. Only used one time in clean environment. Since I'm building up a huge collection of this stuff, only used once, I'm considering reusing it for some free work that I'm doing. Anyone else doing this? what's the real risk?

In my experience.... user error- you might accidentally record over something useful.

2- If you mix miniDV and DVCAM recording on the same tape, you can potentially have some re-capturing issues.

3- MiniDV tape is pretty cheap... you can get them for under $3/tape.

good points. The stuff I'm using costs more. Average 4.50 per 60 min stock and 6.75 for the 80 stock. I'm going to need about 30 tapes or so within the next 6 months so we're looking at a bit of money. I'd really like to just start reusing what I have before it takes over my house.
