DVCAM and DVCpro
Does anyone know what if any incompatibilities would appear when playing DVCAM tapes on an DVCPRO VTR? The big issue is audio sync, as it seems that material we've produced using DVCAM systems plays out of sync on the DVCPRO system.

It was my understanding that DVCAM playback was possible only on newer-generation DVCPro decks. What is the exact model in question?

I work for a tv station that has DVCpro decks. I had to actually go into the menu and choose DVCAM. It defaults to miniDV. So to sync it right you need to go to the setup and chnge it. Remember to change it back though!!

I think the player is a AJ-D455 DVCPRO studio editing VTR, although Iīm not sure. Panasonic says that the player should handle DVCAM. Weīve had a lot of sync-problems, and canīt seem to find a good explanation in our own line of production, so we are starting to wonder that itīs the playback-system that is the culprit. However, it seems strange that the technicians handling our material wouldnīt have enough experience than to switch the neccesary options for correct playback, but itīs worth investigating.
