Just thought I'd revisit this post because I did modify this workflow.
Also, this feature is done and delivered. (Yay) The final workflow was: Capture all DV tapes via SDI/AES from the DSR-1800 into Apple ProRes HQ (AJA Io). Take ProRes files into After Effects CS2. Interpret footage (remove 2:3 pulldown). Resample, Stretch Footage to 720p @ 23.98 ProRes. Edit footage in FCP, ProRes Native timeline. Provide final QuickTime, self contained to finishing house. Finishing house up-converts 720p to 1080p via Hardware. Records 1080p, 23.98 onto HD-CAM SR. Post house is paid, tape is delivered to distributor. Movie is on TV and available in HD on VOD. Still haven't got paid... Hope this helps someone else. For the next one I'm going HD-SDI 23.98 PsF to mobile capture rig. -C |
