Problems with sound in playback (reprise)
Hi,
a few months ago I posted that I had trouble when I was capturing footage I shot with my XL1s, playing back on my Panasonic Gs200. The sound had glitches and stuff on it. I thought it was a problem with the recording on my XL1s. Now I'm checking back, and I had problems again. So I decided to capture it once with my XL1s (don't really like doing that), and I didn't had any problems, so the problem is obviously in the GS200. Is it because the GS200 plays audio back at 12bit? I know the GS200 can record sound in 16bit, but in the playback submenu it only says 12bit, and you can't change that (unless I'm wrong, but I tried). Or is it because tapes from the XL1s recordings just don't mix well with an XL1s? (Which would surprise me, as I've did it before without problems). Anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks, |

Matthieu,
The compatibility of tapes between camcorders is suspect. IMHO Canon usually plays back better on itself or Sony than on Panasonic. Sound, TC and picture problems often occur. The problem is figuring which unit is out of spec or whether there is an actual manufacturer interchange issue. You need to take your tapes to a third unit to figure it out. |

Thanks. Trying to capture with another camera besides those two is a good idea indeed!
