color curve conundrum

I was wondering, will one of you gentlemen (or ladies) be a lamb and tell me exactly how color curves work? Or a link to a tutorial? Specifically oriented toward Vegas 4, if you can. Also, I remember there's a link to a color correction tutorial. If someone can point me toward that, you'd just be a doll.

Also, I like what Alex Knappenberger does (good for Vegas4):

URL's on color correction & curves (most for Vegas):

http://www.wideopenwest.com/%7Ewvg/tutorial-menu.htm
http://www.martyhedler.com/homepage/...Tutorials.html
http://www.avid.com/resources/tips_t...html?marketID=

Especially that first one has lots of tutorials. The Avid link is
interesting to learn a bit more about the ideas behind everything.

I am in the last stages of preparing a review for the Read About It forum on the Hullfish and Fowler book. Look for it soon.
