External Drives go to "Sleep" during active use.

Hiya... Has anyone ever had an external hard drive that while scrubbing or exporting to tape goes inactive, or into sleep mode, then turns right back on in a few second? If so, what brand and how did you remedy the situation. Thanks!

I'm afraid those are the first signs of a drive on it's last leg... time to transfer all your data to another one and retire it.

Problem is, this is a brand new Seagate. The tech had me ship it back and they sent me a new one. The replacement is doing the exact same thing... and on multiple OS installs.
