Firewire Help Needed on HD100U at DVinfo.net

I've connected the HD100U with standard cables but yesterday for the first time I hooked up the HD100U by firewire. The computer didn't give me any popups about their being new hardware, etc. I opened up Pinnacle Studio Plus, then went to capture and Pinnacle gave me a message that it could not capture.

I turned off everything and then changed the switch from HDV to DV to see if it would make any difference, powered up camera and computer at the same time but it was the same, computer just did nothing and Pinnacle, the same message again.

I'm guessing it's a driver problem.

What should I try next?
