Does DV capture use more or less space than analog inputs???
Ok, capturing from DV.....Does it require more/less space than simply capturing from an external source like a DVD player or VCR using Vegas or similar???

Bob,
I think that the answer would be none. The footage would be converted to DV somewhere in the chain, irrespective of its source.

Ken's right and without more specifics it's impossible to say. However, generally speaking if you import via FireWire the signal at some stage is probably being converted to DV. If the capture is via another capture device (via analog inputs, component inputs etc.) the file might be uncompressed. Many uncompressed Codecs are platform specific. Uncompressed files use considerably more space than DV.
