Firewire card & Cable
What kind of Firewire Card & Cable can I get for my vx2k for under a 100 bucks for both. Also where can I buy it. My local computer repair shop has a DV Wonder card I believe he said. But I understand you can get a card with some sort of editing software. Search hasn't been a lot of help. As far as the software I need something just to goof off with until I figure this camcorder out. Going broke on accessories right now.

I have been using a cheapo d-link firewire card, described as:
3 Port D-Link DRF-A3 Cost £9.49 in from www.scan.co.uk ($14 ?) and came complete with a suitable cable. It uses the standard TI chipset and I have never had a problem with them in either Win2K or WinXP, using standard microsoft drivers (not d-link supplied ones) and Premiere. Why pay more, unless you want the extra features of a Canopus DVStorm2 ? simon |

I bought a firewire card from www.newegg.com for $30, and it came with a cable. It works great, installed it and didn't have to do anything else, before I was capturing video. :D
