Can't capture Analog, Need help
-Greetings
I have just purchased a new computer. Installed all my software. With SCLIVE firewire capture is great. No problems. I use to use a Pinnacle SYS 500 capture card and had no problems analog or firewire. Now I use an ATI All-Wonder X1800XL for capture. As I said the firewire cature is great. However when I try to capture Analog it doesn't allow me to see a picture in the preview pane. SCLive switches to the ATI card but doesn't allow the picture from the camera to come though. I can capture analog with Movie maker and also witj NERO Start Smart, but not with SCLIVE. I'm thinking it's a setting in SCLIVE or maybe the ATI card that's causing the problem. Any help would be appreciated Thanks! Harry Lender |

Harry, I have no experience with SCLIVE but in others NLE's I have used, you have to set the capture to LIVE. Analog video dosn't have any timecode present so put you setting to LIVE and you can capture to your NLE with timecode attached.
You also have to start and stop your camcorder manually to capture. Hope this helps? Good luck!

hi..it's hard to tell from the below whether the signal is coming in and you can't see it, or it's not getting it. ..try turning off your hardware acceleration on your display card (in properties, advanced tab, click troubleshooting) and see if that fixes it. turn it all the way off, then if that lets you see your video, turn it back on toward full one click at a time. otherwise, you can try the dvdrhelp.com forum where there are a lot of AIW card users. good luck! post back here if you figure it out so that others can see as well..

Hi All
After doing some research and reading the operating manual, something I should have done first, it appears to be a software problem. It states in the manual the capture cards that Sclive supports. I was using DV500 Pinnacle Sys card on my old System but not on my new System. My ATI All-in-Wonder X1800 Series only captures Firewire. It does it great...but no Analog. So my problem is do I install my DV500 card or transfer my analog files to my DV Camera then firewire it on into my computer. Problems problems. Anyway thanks for all the input on this subject. Oh I will problem be posting again on another problem that has popped up if I can't find a solution. Harry |
