auto launch of Windows Movie Maker :(
my windows xp suddenly started launching Windows Movie Maker whenever I hook up my video camera to capture video!
I found online where it says movie maker can't be deleted !!! anyone know how to turn this annoyance off?? cripes! (later) I found the answer! go to Start > run > (enter) gpedit.msc > local computer policy > computer configuration > admnistrative templates > windows components > windows movie maker ...and then you need to ENABLE the "do not allow windows movie maker to run" line !! (later still) Okay, so now the Movie Maker program doesn't open, but I get a box saying "windows can't open Movie Maker" !! I'd still like to disable the trigger if anyone knows how. In the little taskbar down at the bottom right of the screen (near the clock) is where you need to look, I think. When you connect, there should be an icon of a camera that pops up down there. Click on it, and it should bring up a window that will allow you to modify the auto-start options on a DV Device Connect.
Good luck =) |
