Windows x64 drive speed issues?
Hi everyone.
I'm kinda pondered about some drive speed test results that I'm getting. I was running windows x32 with 4 drives in a Raid 0 format. When I ran my drive speed tests I was getting a Data Write Rate in the 260 MB/s range and a Data Read Rate in the 210 MB/s range. I had a drive that died on me. It was giving me problems from the beginning and it died after about a week. So I got a replacement and upgraded to windows x64. Now that I have everything running again I just ran some Disk Speed Tests again. Now I'm getting a Data Write Rate of 266.5 MB/s and a Data Read Rate of 67.6 MB/s. I uninstalled some disk utility tools that I have, and I'm still getting rates within this range. Does anyone know of any disk read/write issues with Windows x64? I'm baffeled. I really need good rates because I plan on doing some video editing with this machine and as of right now I'll barely be able to do 10-bit SD editing. I can write 299 fps of 10-bit SD to disk but I can only read 75 fps of 10-bit SD. Its just a speed test so I don't think these results are software related. Any ideas? |
