Video Capture??

Not sure where to post this question so I hope this is the right place. How do you all capture your video? I currently capture my miniDV footage straight from my Sony VX2100 to my computer via firewire. But this seems like it would wear out my heads. Do you use a deck of some sort? Can someone point me in the right direction? I am a newbie at this. Thanks!

capture device

Have to do a lot of capture to wear out your heads.
I don't see mini-dv deck being worht the cost. Just use camera like you are doing.

If you are a real heavy user, buy a cheap firewire camcorder and burn that up instead.

I have a Sharp with firewire output that I have been using as a capture deck for my VX2000 for 5 years. Bought it for about $299, and it hasn't skipped a beat, or refused to read any of my VX2000 tapes...
