Beta SP
Is it possible to take video shot in SD and convert to Beta SP on Final Cut Pro 5?
Thanks, John |

Blackmagic or Kona card using component outputs to Beta deck.
Or make a DV tape and get it dubbed. Going out of FCP to Beta is not a conversion per se, it's just a matter of making the right connections. At my old job, we had a DSR-40 deck we'd use for firewire monitoring that had component output. We also had a Keyspan RS-422 adapter for Beta dek control. So the video would go out via firewire, then go out the DSR deck into the Beta. FCP would be controlling the Beta deck directly. That's another way to do it. If you're working with DV material, you might as well just output a DV tape and get it dubbed. It's the cheapest, and there's no quality to be gained by doing it any other way.
