4 pin, 7pin, 8 pin s video outs??

does anyone know the difference between these s-videos on graphics cards? i get a feeling this may be one reason why I cant get to expand my desktop onto a 14" tv to use as an output monitor in prem pro 2.0
my graphics card has an 8 pin s-video out, i used an 8 pin to composite yellow converter into a scart block. alas still doesnt work!
