Toshiba Qosmio...any reviews??? in editing with adobe premire and after effects???
i've been doing alot of research on getting a laptop for DV editing. i use adobe premire and adobe after effects so thats rendering for both programs, and thats about it. everyone tells me to get a macbook pro. but i've been comparing specs and the toshiba qosmio looks just as powerful if not more than the mac. I wanted to get the 17" qosmio, its 2ghz intel core duo, 1024 ram, and 2x100 gb harddrive and a 4x layer dvd burner. and its 1920x1200 resolution. sounds good to me...but i have a toshiba laptop now(not for editing) but it overheats alot. this is one thing im scared of before spending $3000 i want a review from someone who actually know or has used this computer with the programs im using. any help or suggestions would be great! thanks

I have a 16 inch Sony Vaio and about the only concern I can bring up is the overheating - just like in your case. I still use it casually, but use a desktop for larger projects. The other thing that would scare me is being locked to the original configuration - with a desktop you can upgrade hardware if needed, with a laptop pretty much everything is proprietary.
