2:35:1 Aspect Ratio In PPro 2.0 from XL2 16:9?
I shoot everything on my CanonXL2 at 16:9, but at times want the 2:35:1 aspect ratio. What is best way to set up a project to acheive a 2:35:1 aspect ratio? Is it just best to go with the widescreen presets and add black bars to acheive the ratio? If so, how does one calclulate where to place the bars so that the ratio is in fact correct 2:35:1?
Thanks!

Devon,
You are correct. You should shoot 16:9 and letterbox down to 2.35:1. The reason is that there really are no output formats for 2.35:1. If you are going to DVD, your only choices are 4:3 and 16:9, so you need that 16:9 with the letterbox burned in. Yes, if you are going for a film out or web delivery, you could squeeze in some extra vertical detail by adding an anamorhphic adaptor on top of 16:9 shooting mode, but I haven't heard of anyone actually doing this.
