Editshare LAN storage. at DVinfo.net

Has anyone had any experience with the Edit share LAN system? Primarily for DV editing over a 1Gb network.

I'm looking at shared storage solutions for my University department and the advantage this system seems to have is that it doesn't care what NLE software you use with it, so we could stick with our ancient Prem 6.5 systems (which I guess is not such good news). The alternative is Avid's LANshare system, but as that would mean replacing all out edit stations with Avid systems (desirable but not particularly affordable as we'd also havge to replace all the computers.)
